Assault...........
59How he assaulted...........
He called a person in his room, closed the door and started giving immense emotional assault and put staff emotional health at risk, in the form of uninvited and unwelcome infringement, forcing the staff to suffer mentally and emotionally. The emotional rapist was no one but a head of an office who is emotional drainers, abusers and stalkers. No one could protect such behavior from him. Staff receives regular verbal assault. He verbally lashed out at the staff shredding staff dignity to bits as a routine. He humiliates time and again, day in and day out, at all times. His abusing words were hurled at the staff every day. It was not just a one day slap.
The emotional health of the staff suffered at the hands of such emotional rapists. There was no one to protect and guard against him, and tackle difficult situations with him. Staff welfare body and other mechanisms were just name sake and could not do anything against the cruel autocracy; unable to do anything for the emotionally assaulted and powerless professional. The person was in trouble, cannot file a complaint against him. If he was to do so, how would he live?
No one willingly bears harassment and domination. Those who is oppressed often have no choice. In our patriarchal society violence against staff is commonplace. There are so many mechanisms said to be working for staff rights. But the most abused staff members have to accept their destiny. These mechanisms do not work, as all the mechanisms are directly under a head of an office, when a head of an office is the culprit. There is not even a channel of communication which would help to report any case and reduce agony.
As the staff member had to live or work with such people, the self-confidence and self-esteem would sure to go down; slowly one would lose sense of self, and will, in all probability, become clinically depressed when one remain with the abuser. The institute should have a system to teach people how to treat staff. Unless there is zero-tolerance for the abuse, the abuser will never treat staff any better.
Often the 'abused' had no way out, 'he' did not have any 'power' to free himself from the abuser, and that he did not get any better behavior from such person.
The frightening part is that the 'abuser' further talked against the victim to the outside world, although the victim had not done anything wrong. There was no two way communication channel to verify the assaulters illusive version of information to the outside world. His verbal abuse is seen nowhere.
